Import strategiyasi milliy iqtisodiyotning rivojlanishi va barqarorligini
taʼminlashning asosiy elementlaridan biri hisoblanadi. Import strategiyasi orqali
mamlakatning iqtisodiy manfaatlari himoya qilinib, tashqi savdo balansi
muvozanatlashtirilishi va ichki bozor talabi qondirilishi uni amalga oshirishning
dolzarbligini belgilaydi. Import strategiyasining klassik nazariy asoslari yangi faktorlar
va jahon iqtisodiyotining realliklaridan kelib chiqib zamonaviy yondashuvlar bilan
toʻldirib borilayotgani ularni oʻrganib borish zaruriyatini koʻrsatadi.
